MTNL Telephone No.20878890 CA No 2070288410 – A gentle reminder for payments This is with reference to the e-mail received from Noreply_wiems@billpay.mtnl.in on the captioned subject. In this regard it is submitted that:
1. Consequent upon my transfer from Belapur, I joined at New Delhi on May 13, 2019 and as my daughter is studying in Class 10th, they were already shifted to a single room accommodation in Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi and none of us was staying in the official accommodation at Kharghar. Hence, during my visit to Kharghar, on June 10, 2019, I downloaded and made the payment of the Bill which was due on June 28, 2019 (a copy of the Screenshot is attached). After making the payment, I visited the MTNL Office, Sector 21, Kharghar and surrendered the instrument, filled up the desired form and submitted it along with a cancelled cheque (as desired by the MTNL Lady Officer available at Phone No. 022 27749100). I was assured that I would be receiving a call from their Senior Officer and the account would be deactivated. The rent due for the period from June 01, 2019 till deactivation would be adjusted from the Security deposit and the remaining would be refunded to my account for which they had asked me to submit a cancelled cheque which I did.
2. After few days I received a call from a Senior Officer from MTNL asking reasons for surrender which I explained as transfer to New Delhi and she also assured that the account is being deactivated. As it appears from the mail that the same was not deactivated and it is purely due to deficiency in the service by MTNL for which I should not be asked to pay the bills.
3. However, it appears that thanks to the visit to MTNL Office by some person, MTNL realised their mistake and have deactivated my account. I have received a deactivation mail and message from MTNL few days back (a copy of screenshot is attached).
In view of above, as the account has already been deactivated, it appears that no further action is required at my end except for claiming portion of Security Deposit due to deficiency in the service, which I could not claim immediately due to tight schedule in my new assignment. Hence, kindly consider the above facts and change the date of deactivation as neither phone nor Data were used as I had already surrendered the instrument, etc. on June 10, 2019. Please also arrange for the refund of the portion of Security Deposit due to me. Regards Pawan Kumar Pandit
